In all the hard work before Easter, lots of communications are needed to connect visitors to your church, to answer questions, to explain your church and bring people back. To do to accomplish all these goals takes extra time that many who work in church offices don't always have.
You are probably working on fancy, colorful pieces such as a special church bulletin or program as your main communication, but a colorful and well-designed bulletin, as beautiful as it might be, isn't what will connect people with the church or bring them back next Sunday.
In addition to what will impress, ask yourself: "what are the most important communications churches need to create to get key connecting jobs done?"
As I thought about that goal and the communications needed to accomplish the goal of connecting people with and bringing them back to the church , I came up with these:
Essential Church Communication to bring people back to church after Easter (or any special event)
- Connection Cards
- Church Bulletin insert to explain the church
- Church Bulletin insert to reach out to seekers and give evangelism information
- Bonus: Something for Children
In addition, I know that some churches may not have the money or the time to do full-color printing. I also know that many churches have to create things at the last-minute with black and white printers and copiers. In response to that, I redid the needed core communications in easy-to-print black and white designs. Any of these can be printed on colored paper or card stock, quickly, easily and for little cost.
They are not fancy and may not be as impressive as your Easter bulletin, but THEY WILL help your church make vital connections that will bring people back next week.
Here's what you must have:
You want to be able to follow-up with Easter guests, but you won't be able to do that if you haven't collected contact information from them. The Panic Pack has two cards, one for a special event, such as a children's event, the other to be used in your church service.
They both will print 4 per 8 1/2 by 11 page.
Easter Sunday Bulletin insert that explains the church
This is an optional sheet for inside your church bulletin (which usually primarily has the order of service) that:
♦ Welcomes people
♦Gives them a brief Easter message
♦Invites them to come back next week
♦Provides space on the back where you can give specific times and information about your regular church meetings and ministries.
NEVER assume people know what you do on a regular basis! This little sheet of paper can make a huge difference in people returning for regular services.
Easter Sunday Bulletin insert to reach out to seekers and provide evangelism information
This is one of the most important pieces of all because it speaks directly to people who may visit your church on Easter, but have no idea what the Christian faith is about. This sheet honors their questions and gives them websites they can go to (on the back, not illustrated here) for more information. You could also provide your own material, web links, future small groups or studies for seekers.
You could also list ongoing groups that visitors might be interested in such as Single Adult Ministries, what you do for youth, Seniors, community outreach.
Bonus: Jelly Bean Prayer for Children
This is one of our most popular downloads and makes a great bulletin insert or an insert for a giveaway bag of goodies for children at your church. It is a simple, black and white design, 4 to an 8 1/2 by 11 page and prints up well on any colored paper or card stock.
