You may be considering creating the website for your church or for a personal blog with WordPress, which is a great idea and one I strongly recommend. But though WordPress is a very easy way to create a website, you may be concerned about how to create the custom header nameplate and maybe some custom graphics for special events.
You have a reason to be concerned because many people will tell you that you need to create these in programs like Photoshop, but your church doesn't have money for the program and you have no time or desire to learn it. But did you know that you can create headers and custom graphics with MS Publisher? Really. You can. And it is SUPER easy to do.
A few comments about WordPress
WordPress is the system I use to not only create and maintain this site, but a number of other websites including the one I do for the Adult Sunday School class I teach at church http://www.untilfulllight.com
If I can do these, anyone can. It was not that long ago that I was the last writer for Christian Computing Magazine to get an email account because I was scared of it and quite certain I could never do it. There are days when I still believe that technology stopped improving with the invention of the self-correcting typewriter.
How things have changed--technology that was tremendously difficult and challenging not that long ago is easy and either low-cost or free today. For websites, WordPress made many of those changes possible. Go to http://en.wordpress.com/features/ for a really good intro it.
